Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced PHP Architect to lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable, high-performance web applications. The ideal candidate Will help stabilize and extract valuable components from Glytec's legacy PHP stack (CodeIgniter, Laravel) as part of a long-term migration to .NET.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and incrementally refactor PHP components into future-proof modules
- Use AI tools to accelerate code comprehension and rewrite workflows
- Provide design & architectural input for partial or full conversion of code to .NET
- Collaborate with .NET developers, QA, and tech writers
- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and development teams to define technical requirements.
- Review and optimize application code for performance, security, and maintainability.
- Define coding standards, best practices, and guidelines for PHP development.
- Mentor and guide development teams on PHP-related technologies and architectural decisions.
- Flexible to work in EST time zone
Requirements:
- Strong experience in PHP and frameworks like Laravel and CodeIgniter
- Ability to write and optimize complex SPs, and expertise with SQL
- Exposure to Front End, JavaScript or other React based frameworks
- Solid understanding of MVC architecture and OOP principles.
- Experience designing and working with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Azure cloud platforms and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Ability to reverse-engineer undocumented systems
- Familiar with Docker, Git, and microservices principles
- Experience in regulated healthcare or healthtech environments would be great
Communication:
- Facilitates team and stakeholder meetings effectively
- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
- Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
- Astute cross-cultural awareness and experience in working with international teams (especially US)
