Job Summary:
--> We are seeking an experienced AS400 Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT Operations team, responsible for 12x5 proactive monitoring, support, and maintenance of AS400 (IBM iSeries) environments.
--> This includes managing scheduled daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly batch jobs, system backups, job queues, and infrastructure processes in production and build environments.
--> You will work closely with application teams (such as MS4 and Medi-Tech) to ensure smooth execution of mission-critical financial and healthcare batch processes, while maintaining system availability, performance, and integrity.
Required Skills & Experience:
--> 8+ years of hands-on experience supporting AS400 / IBM iSeries systems in an infrastructure or operations role.
--> Strong command of AS400 system tools and commands:
WRKJOB, WRKACTJOB, WRKOUTQ, DSPSYSSTS, WRKSPLF, SAVLIB, RSTLIB, etc.
--> Experience with job scheduling and batch processing tools (Robot/Scheduler, Advanced Job Scheduler, etc.).
--> Strong understanding of backup and recovery procedures, system saves (SAVSYS, SAVLIB), and media management.
--> Familiarity with Medi-Tech or MS4 batch processes is a plus.
--> Comfortable using 5250 emulators and navigating green screen interfaces.
--> Basic scripting or CL programming knowledge (preferred).
--> Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and documentation habits.
