Job Description
Job Title: Sr Technical Accounting Analyst
Experience Required: 5 to 7 years
Notice Period: 15-30 days
Location: Remote
Shift Timing: 2 PM to 11 PM IST
Role Summary
This is a technical accounting role at a managerial level. You'll be:
- Leading projects for clients related to complex accounting scenarios
- Helping companies prepare for IPOs (Initial Public Offerings)
- Supporting mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities
- Working with senior finance professionals (like CFOs) and external auditors
- Ensuring everything is compliant with US GAAP, SEC, and IFRS accounting standards
Key Responsibilities
You'll be involved in:
- Technical Accounting Projects, such as:
- Revenue Recognition following ASC 606
- Lease Accounting following ASC 842
- Business Combinations / M&A ASC 805
- Stock-based Compensation ASC 718
- Debt & Equity Financing ASC 470, ASC 815
- Impairment Testing ASC 350/360
- Documentation:
- Prepare/review technical memos explaining accounting treatments.
- IPO Readiness:
- Help companies prepare for going public.
- Set up internal controls under SOX 404 (Sarbanes-Oxley Act).
- Financial Review:
- Ensure financial statements meet US GAAP and SEC requirements.
- Auditor Coordination:
- Act as a technical expert in discussions with external auditors.
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor junior team members
- Ensure the quality of deliverables.
- Practice Building:
- Help develop the firms technical accounting methodologies.
- Contribute to thought leadership (like whitepapers, industry guidance, etc.).
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors or Masters in Accounting or Finance
- Certification: Must be CA (Chartered Accountant) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
- Experience:
- 6+ years in technical accounting roles
- Background in Big 4 or mid-tier audit firms preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, and experience handling complex accounting
- Hands-on with IPOs, carve-outs, or major implementations (ASC 606/842)
- Familiar with SEC reporting
