Job Description
- As a Senior Associate in the Security Operations Center at Genpact, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing security alerts and threats to ensure the protection of clients" digital assets. Your responsibilities will include continuous alert monitoring, triaging, incident response, documentation, collaboration with team members, phishing detection, threat analysis, reporting, and user education. You will be required to monitor security alerts from various sources such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and antivirus software. It will be your responsibility to review and categorize new alerts, as well as assist in the initial response to security incidents following predefined procedures. Maintaining accurate records of incident detection and response activities is essential, along with working closely with the SOC team for effective communication and coordination during incident handling. In addition to monitoring email systems for phishing attacks, you will also be analyzing phishing emails to understand their origin and tactics. Documenting all incidents thoroughly and providing detailed reports on findings will be part of your role, along with educating employees on recognizing and avoiding phishing attempts. We are looking for candidates with a basic understanding of defensive security fundamentals, the ability to analyze logs for potential threats, knowledge of network-based and host-based threat detection techniques, proficiency with email security tools, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with programming languages like Python. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must for reporting incidents clearly. Preferred qualifications include a degree in computer science or a related field, relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
