Must-Have Skills: Proven experience as a Database Administrator. Strong expertise in Azure Cosmos DB and Advanced SQL Server. Proficiency in SQL query development, tuning, and stored procedures. Experience in CI/CD for databases, Azure Data Factory pipelines, DacPac, and schema management. Knowledge of database monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization techniques. Experience in backup and disaster recovery planning. Familiarity with external data integration and replication. Ability to troubleshoot database-related issues effectively. Good team player with strong communication skills. Flexible and willing to support team members when needed.

Good-to-Have Skills: Experience with cloud cost management and optimization. Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and related monitoring tools. Understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and refactoring. Scripting knowledge for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python). Knowledge of DevOps practices within Azure cloud environments.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: Administer, monitor, and maintain Azure Cosmos DB and SQL Server environments. Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and overall database performance. Monitor database health, identify and resolve latency, deadlocks, and related issues. Design, implement, and manage database CI/CD pipelines using Azure Data Factory. Perform schema deployments, DacPac handling, and database changes on Azure managed instances. Establish and maintain data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures. Support weekly PROD releases (flexible shift required). Handle data integration and replication processes with external sources. Troubleshoot and resolve database and data pipeline issues efficiently. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide database-related support. Maintain high-quality documentation for processes and configurations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with Azure Cosmos DB, Advanced SQL Server, and strong database performance tuning capabilities. This role requires managing production databases, supporting CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring robust backup and recovery strategies.
