Lead Python & Groovy Framework Developer @ Spanidea

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Framework Development: Design, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks using Python and Groovy.
  
• Mobile Automation: Implement and optimize automation solutions for mobile applications using Appium.
  
• Test Execution: Write, review, and execute test cases using Pytest and other automation tools.
  
• Version Control: Manage code repositories and workflows using Git.
  
• CI/CD Integration: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  
• Debugging & Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize test scripts for stability and performance.
  
• Agile Practices: Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
  
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior automation engineers, ensuring best coding practices and quality standards.
  
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to ensure seamless automation integration.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Programming Languages: Python (Expert), Groovy (Proficient).
  
• Automation Tools: Appium, Pytest.
  
• Version Control: Git (branching, merging, pull requests).
  
• CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
  
• Debugging: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for debugging automation scripts.
  
• Methodologies: Agile & Scrum.
  
• Leadership: Proven experience in leading automation teams and driving automation strategies.
  
• Experience: 7+ years of overall development/automation experience with at least 2 years in a lead role.
  
• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Selenium or other web automation frameworks.
  
• Knowledge of cloud-based test execution platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
  
• Exposure to API testing frameworks (e.g., REST Assured, Postman automation).
  
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for test environments.
