Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our cloud infrastructure across AWS and VMware Cloud (VMC) environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in cloud platforms, automation, and infrastructure as code, with a focus on scalability, security, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS and VMware Cloud on AWS (VMC)
- Architect hybrid cloud environments that seamlessly integrate on-premises and cloud resources
- Optimize cloud resource utilization and cost management across multiple environments
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
Automation and Infrastructure as Code
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, etc
- Create automated deployment pipelines and CI/CD workflows for infrastructure provisioning
- Build and maintain configuration management solutions using tools like Ansible, Chef, etc.
- Implement automated monitoring, alerting, and self-healing infrastructure systems
Security and Compliance
- Implement cloud security best practices including identity and access management, network security, and data encryption
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct security assessments and implement remediation strategies
- Manage security groups, NACLs, and other network security controls
Monitoring and Operations
- Design and implement comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions
- Establish SLAs, KPIs, and operational metrics for infrastructure performance
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response procedures
- Perform capacity planning and performance tuning activities
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering or similar role
- Expert-level knowledge of AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM
- Strong experience with VMware Cloud on AWS (VMC) and vSphere technologies
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS)
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Knowledge of networking concepts including VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and CDNs
Process and Methodology
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline implementation
- Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management frameworks
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaboration tools
Certifications (Preferred)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or Associate
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Cloud on AWS certification
- Terraform Associate certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with log management and analysis tools
- Background in network security and zero-trust architecture
- Experience with cost optimization and FinOps practices
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC2, PCI-DSS, ISO)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure and automation
- Demonstrated experience managing production environments at scale

- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
