Job Description
- As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Home Lending, you will play a pivotal leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory to multiple technical teams. Your expertise will be crucial in anticipating the needs and potential dependencies of various functions within the firm, influencing budget and technical considerations to enhance operational efficiencies and functionalities. Your responsibilities will include leading the design and implementation of solutions to meet business requirements, ensuring high performance, scalability, and adherence to best practices. You will provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team, overseeing application development and deployment. Conducting code reviews to ensure compliance with coding standards, troubleshooting application-related issues, and staying updated with the latest technologies and industry trends are also integral parts of your role. Successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders is essential, as well as being accountable for decisions that impact team resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution of processes. You will contribute input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations for improving operational efficiencies and functionality. Furthermore, creating a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect within the team is a priority. Required qualifications for this role include formal training or certification in Software Engineering concepts with a minimum of 5 years of applied experience. You should be able to guide and coach teams to achieve goals aligned with strategic initiatives and have at least 12 years of experience in software engineering and architecture, particularly in Java and AWS technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, collaboration abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions are essential. Experience in successful project implementations, mentoring junior team members, and understanding agile methodologies are also required. Preferred qualifications include experience working at the code level, a keen interest in modern development trends and emerging technologies such as AI and Machine Learning, and the ability to independently tackle design and functionality problems.,
