Job Description
- As a Senior PHP & DevOps Engineer based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and maintain PHP microservices and APIs that drive the backend business logic and integrations. Additionally, you will be tasked with architecting and operating AWS environments optimized for high availability, autoscaling, disaster recovery, and cost efficiency. You will play a crucial role in building and enhancing end-to-end automation for build, test, and deployment using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI to enable zero-downtime releases. Monitoring system health and ensuring 24/7 visibility through dashboards and alerts in tools like Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, or similar will also be part of your duties. In terms of security and compliance, you will enforce best practices around network security, IAM policies, encryption, vulnerability scanning, and incident response. Collaboration and mentorship are key aspects of this role, as you will partner with frontend and product teams, conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and help define engineering standards. To excel in this role, you must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in building production-grade PHP applications and a proven track record in designing, deploying, and operating AWS-based systems at scale. Hands-on experience in building automated pipelines with testing, linting, and blue-green/rolling deployments is essential. Additionally, knowledge of Docker and familiarity with orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or ECS will be beneficial. Experience in setting up dashboards and alerts in tools like Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, ELK/EFK, or equivalent is required, along with a strong understanding of network and application security. A scaling mindset, excellent communication skills, and experience working in Agile/Scrum environments are important qualifications for this role. Familiarity with Magento architecture, module development, Node.js services, and exposure to additional observability tools are considered advantageous.
