About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented System Test Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the overall quality and performance of our distributed systems and enterprise software products. This role demands a proactive individual who can design and execute test scenarios, influence product design, and help build test automation that reflects real-world customer environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop manual and automated test cases based on system requirements and functional specs.
- Execute comprehensive testing strategies including system, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
- Collaborate with developers to analyze failures and determine root cause.
- Automate complex test scenarios that replicate real-world workloads and distributed system behavior.
- Continuously improve test coverage and maintain robust automation frameworks.
- Perform REST API testing and backend validation using tools like Postman.
- Track and manage defects using tools like JIRA or ServiceNow, and follow through until resolution.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous integration/testing processes via tools like Jenkins, Git, and Maven.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- BE/BTech/BCA/MCA/ME/MTech or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
- 46 years of professional experience in software QA, system testing, or automation.
- Hands-on experience in test automation using any of the following: Python, Java, Perl, C/C++ (Python preferred).
- Strong in manual testing, writing test cases, debugging, and root cause analysis.
- Good understanding of Linux/Windows operating systems.
- Exposure to file system concepts and network protocols.
Good to Have (Plus):
- Experience testing in virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with distributed systems architecture and debugging multi-node setups.
- Exposure to cloud platforms or infrastructure testing (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Basic scripting for setup and environment automation (Shell, Bash, Python).
Tools & Technologies:
- Testing: Selenium, Pytest, TestNG, Postman
- CI/CD: Jenkins, Git, Maven
- Bug Tracking: JIRA, Bugzilla, ServiceNow
- OS: Windows, Linux
- Others: Agile-Scrum methodologies
