Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Platform (OpenShift) Engineer on Azure to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our OpenShift platform on Azure infrastructure. You will leverage your deep expertise in containerization, orchestration, and cloud technologies to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our applications. You will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to drive innovation and optimize our cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- OpenShift Platform Management:
- Design, deploy, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters on Azure.
- Extensive experience in microservice application deployment in OpenShift
- Perform upgrades, patching, and maintenance of OpenShift environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to OpenShift and its underlying infrastructure.
- Utilize Kubernetes and OpenShift features for application deployment, scaling, and management.
- Optimize OpenShift performance and resource utilization.
- Azure Infrastructure:
- Design and implement Azure infrastructure to support OpenShift deployments, including virtual networks, storage, and compute resources.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
- Manage and optimize Azure networking, security, and monitoring.
- Integrate OpenShift with various Azure services.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement security best practices for OpenShift and Azure environments.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Perform security assessments and vulnerability scans.
- Implement and manage security policies within the Azure and OpenShift environments.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth application deployments.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
- Document processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
- Containerization and Orchestration:
- Develop and maintain container (Docker/OCI-Images) & orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes/ OpenShift/ AKS/ EKS/ GKS).
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications.
- Automation and Monitoring:
- Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and automation tools.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions for OpenShift and Azure infrastructure.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates).
- Develop and maintain dashboards and alerts to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in cloud platform engineering, with a focus on OpenShift and Azure.
- Strong experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Build, automate & maintain a highly available cloud infrastructure platform on Microsoft Azure for customers worldwide.
- Analyse overall requirements and design the appropriate cloud infrastructure platform capabilities & services needed.
- Extensive experience with Azure infrastructure and services.
- Azure DevOps - including build and release pipelines.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and monitoring concepts.
Qualifications & Skills
- B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Computer science or equivalent Degree.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Experience/certifications on Cloud Technologies Azure, AWS, GCP
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
