Job Title: Lead Automation Test Engineer
Location: Bangalore, India

Purpose of the Role
As a Lead Automation Test Engineer, you will own the quality strategy for complex software products, lead test automation initiatives, and guide a team of testers to deliver high-quality releases. You will be responsible for defining testing best practices, implementing robust automation frameworks, and ensuring seamless integration of quality processes into CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Ownership: Define, implement, and own the test strategy for multiple products.
- Leadership: Mentor and guide junior and mid-level testers, ensuring technical excellence.
- Automation Excellence:
- Develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Python with Selenium.
- Expand automation coverage for UI, API, and mobile applications.
- Project Management:
- Plan, prioritize, and track testing activities across multiple projects.
- Collaborate closely with development, product management, and DevOps teams.
- Technical Contribution:
- Write and review test cases, scenarios, and automation scripts.
- Conduct code reviews for automation scripts and frameworks.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Evaluate and integrate new testing tools and methodologies.
- Drive adoption of best practices for CI/CD integration and test efficiency.
- Bug Analysis: Investigate, analyze, and report defects to identify root causes and trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in software testing with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
- Automation Skills:
- Strong hands-on expertise with Python + Selenium.
- Experience with JUnit, Gherkin, or similar frameworks.
- Mobile automation using Appium (preferred).
- API Testing: Strong knowledge of Postman or similar tools.
- CI/CD & Version Control: Proficient in Azure DevOps, Git, and build pipelines.
- UI & API Testing: Experience in both manual and automated testing for complex systems.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to derive test cases from business requirements and defect patterns.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication and team management skills.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of cloud-based test environments.
- Exposure to performance and security testing tools.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
