Job Description
- As a QA Automation Intern specializing in API and Backend Testing at Celetel, located in On-Site Noida, India, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to building a modern CPaaS platform. This platform aims to empower businesses through the seamless integration of high-quality voice, video, and messaging APIs. Quality is at the forefront of our objectives, and we are seeking passionate QA interns who are enthusiastic about testing scalable systems. Your primary responsibilities will include working on API automation testing utilizing open-source tools such as Postman, Newman, or REST-assured. You will play a key role in creating and maintaining automated test cases and regression test suites. Collaboration with developers to comprehend technical implementations and define test scopes will be essential. Testing of backend services and APIs to ensure accurate and reliable system behavior will also be part of your duties. Additionally, you will be responsible for logging, tracking, and verifying bugs using tools like JIRA or Bugzilla. Conducting root cause analysis for defects, assisting in prioritizing fixes, and ensuring functional correctness, reliability, and performance of features are crucial aspects of your role. You may be required to participate in deployments and help triage production issues, which may include occasional weekends. Furthermore, contributing to the enhancement of QA processes and automation coverage is expected from you. In this position, you will have the opportunity to help design and develop test automation frameworks from scratch. Writing clear, maintainable test cases and test scripts for Web/Mobile APIs, collaborating with engineering and product teams to understand features, edge cases, and failure points, as well as reviewing feature implementation and participating in quality gates before release are key responsibilities you will undertake. To excel in this role, you should possess a basic understanding of API testing and HTTP methods, familiarity with tools like Postman, Swagger, or any scripting language (JavaScript/Python), and the ability to write clear test cases and documentation. Strong analytical and debugging skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn automation frameworks are essential qualities. It would be advantageous if you have exposure to tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress, experience in writing automation scripts in JavaScript and Typescript, familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins), and knowledge of databases and basic SQL. Understanding of CPaaS products or real-time systems would also be beneficial. During your internship at Celetel, you will gain real-world testing practices within a cloud-based, API-first platform. You will acquire hands-on experience with automation tooling and frameworks, learn about the end-to-end QA process in a microservices environment, and have the opportunity to grow into a QA Engineer role. This internship is a full-time position with a duration of 6 months. The work location is in person, providing you with a hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.,
