Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Handling Engineer with proven experience in material handling systems for FPSO, offshore, and onshore oil & gas projects. The role involves developing handling studies, reviewing equipment layout, coordinating across disciplines, and actively participating in model reviews. Experience working with leading EPCs like Worley, KBR, Technip, McDermott, or similar is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute mechanical handling studies, considering safe and efficient movement, installation, and maintenance of equipment.
- Evaluate and review package and equipment layouts to identify and address handling requirements and challenges.
- Recommend optimized handling strategies and cost-effective solutions.
- Participate actively in 3D model reviews (using tools like S3D, AVEVA, NAVIS Simulate) and present handling details.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors and various engineering disciplines (piping, structural, electrical) to ensure integration of handling requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Interface with project teams, clients, and fabrication yards for implementation and clarification of handling concepts.
- Prepare and deliver handling study reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, man-hours, and support budget control efforts related to mechanical handling activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or allied Engineering.
- 812 years of experience in mechanical/material handling engineering for oil & gas or FPSO projects.
- Good understanding of rotating/static equipment, skid packages, deck cranes, and lifting/handling equipment.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling tools and review software like S3D, AVEVA, and NAVIS Simulate.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across disciplines.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel globally for short-term assignments at client offices or project sites.
