About the Role
IndiaFilings is seeking a qualified and experienced Chartered Accountant to join our Tax Litigation team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in representing clients before tax authorities and handling income tax and GST litigation matters. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, managing disputes, and delivering strategic tax solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients before Income Tax and GST authorities (Assessing Officer, CIT(A), ITAT, etc.)
- Prepare and file appeals, replies, and submissions for various litigation matters
- Analyze tax notices and draft appropriate responses
- Handle GST audits and departmental inquiries
- Stay updated with recent case laws, notifications, and circulars related to direct and indirect taxes
- Provide advisory and litigation support in complex tax matters
- Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders to manage case timelines and compliance
Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 25 years of relevant experience in tax litigation
- Strong knowledge of Income Tax Act, GST law, and tax procedures
- Prior experience in handling tax assessments, audits, and appeals
- Good drafting and representation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with both direct and indirect tax litigation
- Exposure to tax compliance tools or ERP systems
