Job Title Junior Engineer - Projects (Remote)
Job Type Full-time
Schedule 3:00 pm to 12:00 am (IST) and mandatory company-wide daily Skype call at 6:30 pm IST (8:30 am EST/ 8:30 pm China). The company operates Monday through Saturday.

Trident Home, a USA-based company, is a manufacturer of decorative lighting for retail and hospitality. Tridents focus is growing its custom lighting business for hotel ownership groups, purchasing agents, and hospitality interior designers. Our projects range from guestroom fixtures to large-scale public space installations, with a fast-paced, detail-driven environment that rewards problem-solving and initiative.
Position Overview
We are seeking a junior engineer to help manage dozens of active projects from initial quote through installation. This role combines technical drawing review, hands-on CAD modifications, and project management. The junior engineer will communicate with our partner factories in South East Asia, as well as our US-based group.
You will ensure each project is delivered on time, within scope, and to spec, tracking progress, resolving technical issues, communicating clearly with all stakeholders, and maintaining high-quality standards. Over time, increased expertise will mean greater autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Coordination
- Review shop drawings against specifications and client requirements; coordinate changes with factory engineers and clients and, when needed, make modifications in CAD.
- Track opportunities and milestones in Asana (project management software) and maintain accurate documentation in Dropbox.
- Communicate technical requirements, blockers, and deadlines clearly to manufacturing partners, freight forwarders, and US-based colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Daily Tasks
- Obtain, review, and verify product drawings from factories; initiate modifications as needed.
- Identify engineering solutions to design challenges.
- Prepare and refine RFQs in a PDF Editor, review with management, and send to partner factories.
- Monitor factory pricing responses and flag delays or issues impacting timelines.
- Track model room and full production progress, documenting any vendor challenges or changes.
- Proactively identify and resolve roadblocks in production or shipping.
- Compile customer-facing presentations in PowerPoint.
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills
Must-Have
- Reliable high-speed internet and personal computer.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize complex information.
- Analytical skills with a structured, systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Rhino
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Competence in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing or fabrication
- Familiarity with international shipping processes.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.
- Positive, collaborative approach when working with external partners and internal teams.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in design, manufacturing, and project management.
