Job Description
Lead Principal Data Scientist:
We're looking for a highly experienced and innovative Lead Principal Data Scientist to drive the development and adoption of our LLM Platform and Generative AI initiatives. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in shaping our AI strategy, architecting scalable solutions, and providing expert guidance to cross-functional teams on a diverse range of use cases. You'll also be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of data scientists.
Role & responsibilities:
- Hands-on Development: Actively participate in the coding, development, and testing of core LLM platform components, Generative AI models, and related tools to ensure high quality and performance.
- Architecture & System Design: Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and efficient systems for LLMs, fine-tuning, deployment, and inference. This includes considerations for data pipelines, model serving, and API development.
- Research & Innovation: Stay at the forefront of LLM and Generative AI research, evaluating new techniques and tools to continually enhance our platform and capabilities.
- Performance & Evaluation: Establish metrics and conduct rigorous evaluations of LLM and Generative AI solutions to ensure business impact and continuous improvement.
- Mentorship: Mentor, and inspire a team of data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and support their professional development.
- Cross-Team Guidance: Act as a subject matter expert and provide technical leadership to multiple teams, helping them identify, design, and implement Generative AI solutions for their specific use cases (e.g., content generation, code assistance, customer support automation, data augmentation).
Preferred candidate profile:
- 10+ years of experience in data science with a strong focus on Machine Learning, including significant experience (3+ years) with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI.
- Proven track record in designing and architecting complex, high-scale AI systems, including experience with distributed computing and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
- Strong programming skills in Python/Java and proficiency with relevant ML frameworks.
- Solid understanding of data governance, privacy, and ethical considerations related to AI and LLMs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
