Job Description Summary
We are seeking a skilled and strategic Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of our enterprise data architecture, leveraging Microsoft Azure and aligning with data fabric principles. This role exists to enable scalable, secure, and intelligent data ecosystems, ensuring that EY data strategy is effectively implemented across the organization. The ideal candidate has deep experience in cloud-based data platforms, data integration, and data governance, with a passion for delivering innovative data solutions that drive business value.
Key Accountabilities
- Own the overall data architecture, standards, and platform strategy at EY.
- Support and enable EY Data Architecture and Data Strategy initiatives.
- Lead solution architecture and engineering for data ingestion, modeling, and transformation challenges.
- Collaborate with Data Governance, Digital Council, and IT to drive toward a unified EY Data Architecture.
- Design and implement modern, cloud-native data architectures based on data fabric principles for operational and analytical workloads.
- Define data architecture strategy and blueprints aligned with business needs and technical roadmaps.
- Lead architecture for Microsoft Azure data platforms, including Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Fabric, and Purview.
- Ensure interoperability across heterogeneous data sources via APIs, metadata management, and standardized data models.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to define data flows, transformations, and integration points.
- Govern data models, pipelines, metadata, and master data in alignment with enterprise standards.
- Provide architectural oversight for data ingestion, storage, processing, and access layers.
- Champion best practices in data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies in line with the data fabric architecture strategy.

Certifications:
- Preferred: Microsoft Azure Data Architect certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
Work Experience:
- Minimum 7+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles with advanced expertise in Microsoft Azure Data Services.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of data fabric architecture, distributed data management, metadata-driven pipelines, and semantic layers.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Fabric, and Purview.
- Expertise in data modeling (relational, dimensional, NoSQL), ELT/ETL, data quality, and master data management (MDM).
- Familiarity with data catalogs, lineage, and data observability tools.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with real-time data processing (Azure Event Hubs, Stream Analytics) and emerging trends like knowledge graphs or AI-powered governance.
- Background in regulated industries such as Life Sciences, Healthcare, or Finance is preferred.
