Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Hyderabad team. The ideal candidate will have 58 years of hands-on experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server, with a strong focus on SQL development, performance tuning, high availability, and automation. This role involves managing cloud-hosted databases, implementing backup and recovery strategies, configuring replication and monitoring solutions, and supporting ETL and data migration processes. Candidates should also possess solid scripting skills and a working knowledge of Linux environments to effectively maintain and optimize database infrastructure across dynamic project environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain database systems (CockroachDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, and manage DDL/DML operations.
- Ensure database performance through indexing, query tuning, and analyzing execution plans.
- Configure and manage backup & recovery tools such as pgBackRest, SQL Server Maintenance Plans.
- Implement security best practices, including role-based access, data encryption, and auditing.
- Set up and manage replication and high availability solutions like Patroni (PostgreSQL), Always On (SQL Server).
- Monitor databases using tools like Prometheus + Grafana, pgAdmin, SQL Server Profiler, and resolve performance or availability issues.
- Automate routine database tasks and workflows using Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Work with cloud-hosted database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
- Support ETL processes and perform data migration using tools such as Flyway, Liquibase, or custom/manual scripts.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5 to 8 years of proven experience in database administration, design, and support,Postgre sql.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with at least one major RDBMS.
- Hands-on experience with backup, recovery, performance tuning, and replication.
- Familiarity with database monitoring and alerting tools.
- Good scripting skills for automation and DevOps integration.
- Basic Linux skills for managing database servers and performing routine tasks.
- Cloud database experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience in managing schema changes, versioning, and data migrations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in database administration or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Database Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate).Role & responsibilities
