The QA Engineering Specialist independently executes a range of critical testing activities for a portfolio of products and services, driving best practice standards for test quality, resource planning and issue resolution, in alignment to business strategy and requirements.

What youll be doing

This role caters to overall governance of India specific initiatives and delivery. It involves negotiation and collaboration with different stakeholders at all levels in BT based on the scenario which we are addressing.
Drive MTP Goals and track measurable objectives defined by senior leadership which translates into multiple projects / initiatives.

  • Line Management responsibilities for 12 people in SMT, Lab Support (Voice core, RAN, Policy core, Data Core, Automation)
  • Work with managers / leaders to ensure a mix of projects that balance short term vs. long term MTP Goals.Defect Management responsibility
  • Defect Triage and Management which includes triaging defects, tracking & reporting
  • Process Improvement and compliance which includes process definition, refinement, compliance and auditsMonitor, plan and execute the chosen projects by analyzing performance based on the forecast and implement improvements on a continuous basis.
  • Provide information and recommendations to decision makers at all levels.
  • Streamline operating model agreed with stakeholders
  • Resolve issues related to project delivery in collaboration with all stakeholders.
  • Ownership of development of learning culture across the team by capability building, maintaining an updated
  • knowledge base and working towards an engaging work environment
  • Focus on placing employee engagement at the core of all activities and work towards improving 'Your Say' scores.
  • Initiation of new business cases and streamlining the project governance and finalizing the delivery timeline
  • Help support any process improvement initiatives across the unit.
Need to succeed

Delivery management: Strong skills in creating and delivering a delivery plan including identifying and managing risks, issues, dependencies, finances, and resources.

Storytelling with data: Strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences. Good with Slide decks and Spreadsheets

Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organizational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g., business KPIs, business cases)

Communication: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written to people of all levels and functions across the company and present technical topics to the wider planning community.

Negotiation skills: Experience in interacting and negotiating in situations involving multiple cultures.

Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

Experience youd be expected to have

  • Twelve or more years of experience in IT and/or Telecom industry.
  • 7 to 10 years of diverse roles and increasing leadership responsibilities across major projects andprograms.
  • Experience with Transformation and customer experience improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing "upward" among senior leadership.
  • Substantial consulting leadership experience a plus.
  • Experience using and preferably accreditation in Project Methodology (i.e. Prince2, PMP).
  • Coaching experience and ability to matrix manage teams.
  • Experience managing Agile software development projects and groups.
  • Knowledge and experience of business operations, business strategy, financial and operational strategic analysis.
  • Continuous improvement and business improvement experience (Identify and implement changes to improve quality and reduce costs)
  • Experience of a process driven work-flow environment.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor of Engineering
  • A management degree will be an added advantage but not necessary
