Job Description
1. Quantity Surveying Management
- Oversee preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQs) for projects.
- Manage cost planning and control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and approve interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts.
- Implement and maintain systems for cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
- Provide value engineering advice to improve project profitability.
2. Contracts Administration & Management
- Lead contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and specifications.
- Manage the preparation, review, and execution of contract documents.
- Identify and manage contractual risks, variations, and claims.
- Resolve contractual disputes in collaboration with the legal team.
3. Team Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise and mentor a team of quantity surveyors and contract administrators.
- Allocate resources and workloads effectively.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.
4. Stakeholder & Client Relations
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
- Attend project meetings and present commercial updates.
- Advise senior management on commercial strategy and risk.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, JCT, or relevant contract forms.
- Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., CostX, Candy, or similar).
- Strong analytical and financial acumen.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Professional membership (MRICS, AIQS, CIOB, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 816 years experience in QS and contract management, with at least 35 years in a managerial role.
- Experience across construction, infrastructure, or engineering projects.Role & responsibilities
