Job Description
Position Summary... About Team :
International Technology team enables our warehouses, stores and eCommerce operations across the world. The platforms that we build are used in most of the markets where Walmart has its presence (outside US). Our team collaborates with Walmart International, which has over 5,900 retail units operating outside of the United States under 55 banners in 26 countries including Africa, Argentina, Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Japan, and Mexico, to name a few.
What You ll Do
1. Architect, design, and implement high performance large volume data ingestion and integration processes in a complex, large-scale data environment.
2. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
3. Oversee and mentor the data engineering teams engineering practices, ensuring data privacy and security compliance.
4. Collaborate with data scientists, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver on those needs.
5. Work closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture.
6. Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and builds out new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.
7. Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
8. Write complex queries for data analysis and data extraction.
What You ll bring
1. Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
2. 12+ Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Software Developer, or similar role in data management.
3. Strong knowledge of and experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
4. Proficient in scripting languages like Python, Java, Scala, etc.
5. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
6. Deep understanding of data structures and algorithms.
7. Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and principles is a plus.
8. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
9. Hand-on experience in Data processing and Data manipulation.
10. E xpertise with GCP cloud and GCP data processing tools, platforms and technologies like GCS, DataProc, DPaaS, BigQuery, Hive etc.
11. E xperience with Orchestration tools like Airflow ( perfered) , Automic , Autosys etc.
