- The Data and Artificial Intelligence Platform (DAP) group at Visa is a crucial component of Visa's Technology organization, dedicated to managing Visa's vast data assets and delivering valuable information, products, and services to customers. Within the DAP group, the Data as a Service (DaaS) team, composed of skilled data engineers, focuses on constructing data pipelines to meet Visa's data requirements. As a Lead Data Engineer at Visa, you will be responsible for designing and developing enterprise-level data pipelines and services. Based in Bangalore, India, as a part of the DaaS development team within the Data and AI Platform organization, your initial focus will involve the complete development of the Data Distribution Management System, including migrating applications from Mainframe. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to delve into new prospects at Visa by spearheading data services and products, harnessing the potential of machine learning and artificial intelligence, particularly Generative AI. Your role as a Lead Data Engineer entails various essential functions, including leading analysis, design, development, and implementation of initiatives with end-to-end ownership, ensuring high-quality code development, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring timely deliveries. You will champion security best practices, collaborate with cybersecurity teams, and engage with partners to develop key deliverables for Data Services and Products. Effective communication, iterative product development, and adherence to software engineering patterns are also crucial aspects of your responsibilities. This is a hybrid position, allowing you to work remotely and from the office. Hybrid employees are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week. Qualifications for this role include 14+ years of work experience with a bachelor's degree or 12+ years with an Advanced Degree, along with leadership experience. Proficiency in various technical skills such as Full Stack Software Development, distributed big data systems, programming languages like Scala, Java, Python, and expertise in DevOps practices are essential requirements for this role.
