Job Description

Position: GIS Developer with Power BI.
Company : Applied information Inc (India)
Job Location: Mohali Quark City

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and deploy GIS-based applications and solutions.
• Work with geospatial data formats (e.g., shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML, raster data).
• Design and implement custom tools and scripts using Python, ArcPy, or other GIS libraries.
• Integrate GIS solutions with enterprise databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server).
• Build and maintain interactive web maps and dashboards using platforms like Leaflet, OpenLayers, or ArcGIS Online.
• Optimize spatial queries and conduct spatial analysis to support business needs.
• Collaborate with data analysts, developers, and project managers to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Maintain documentation, version control, and code quality standards Required Skills and Qualifications:
• 3+ years in GIS development and spatial analysis.
• Strong experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS.
• Proficiency in Python (especially with ArcPy or GDAL/OGR libraries).
• Experience with JavaScript and web mapping libraries (Leaflet, Open Layers, Map box).
• Familiarity with spatial databases (PostGIS, SQL Server Spatial).
• Understanding of geospatial concepts, projections, and coordinate systems.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with REST APIs and geospatial web services (WMS, WFS).
• Familiarity with cloud GIS platforms (ArcGIS Online, Google Earth Engine).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
