Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer for Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., you will focus on designing, developing and implementing solutions. You will have strong analytical, technical, interpersonal and leadership skills. These skills will be utilized as part of a team responsible for the highly dynamic and fast-paced JDA, formerly Red Prairie, Workforce Management (WFM) and Task Management applications. You will work across many functional groups including Finance, Operations, Logistics, HR, Merchandising and Data Warehouse. You will be responsible for partnering with the business, business analysts, developers and QA analysts to ensure successful delivery of critical projects
- Understand how the JDA WFM solutions within the area of focus can be configured and delivered to better facilitate business processes
- Partner with the business to analyze requirements, identify impact to applications and determine high-level estimates
- Assist in version upgrades by performing analysis, updating configurations, testing and reviewing documentation
- Develop functional specifications for modifications, interfaces, reports and screens that meet the business objectives and are of sound design
- Ensure smooth and efficient implementation and integration between technical and functional system requirements
- Develop frameworks, tooling, configurations and services to support the data integration, management and connectivity of our applications across the IT systems
- Ensure proper flow of data from different data sources into WFM systems including scheduling system and labor standards system
- Develop SQL database scripts and XML transformers for integrations and interfaces
- Support system testing activities, including test setup, test case scenario definition/refinement, test execution and troubleshooting to ensure JDA WFM software consistently meets the business objectives
- Create procedural and system documentation throughout the project and ad hoc enhancements
- Ensure knowledge transfer is conducted with key project team members
- Provide 24-hour support during a deployment "go-live" periods
- Brainstorm with the team to come up with new ideas to improve overall application functionality and performance
- Provide primary user support and verify that the system provides the required business functions, maintains data integrity and is working as expected
- Assist in planning efforts, defining detailed tasks and effort
- Advanced knowledge of JDA Workforce Management (WFM) system
- Solid understanding of JDA WFM tables and jobs
- Experienced in implementing advanced Timekeeping, Forecasting, Labor Scheduling, Absence Management, Workforce Analytics and Reporting solutions using JDA WFM Software
- Experienced in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions
- Ability to work independently and be effective/proactive in a relatively unstructured environment
- Ability to develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with both the business and IT teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experienced in SQL Databases and writing queries
- Strong MFT, SFTP, XML and XSD skills
- 5+ years of experience in Workforce Management application development/configuration
- 5 years of experience with SQL and relational databases (SQL Server)
