Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Academic Advising:Guiding students with course selection, degree requirements, and academic planning within IT Software programs.
- Career Counseling:Helping students explore career options in IT, providing information about different roles and industries.
- Skill Development:Assisting students in developing essential academic and professional skills like time management, study habits, and communication.
- Resource Navigation:Connecting students with relevant academic resources, support services, and opportunities.
- Problem-Solving:Addressing academic challenges and roadblocks students may face, offering solutions and support.
- Collaboration:Working with faculty, other academic advisors, and support staff to ensure student success.
- Monitoring Student Progress:Tracking student performance and intervening when necessary to provide timely support.
- Staying Updated:Keeping abreast of industry trends, curriculum changes, and advancements in IT to provide relevant advice.
Preferred candidate profile
- Strong Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication to interact with students, faculty, and staff.
- Interpersonal Skills: Empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to assess student needs and develop appropriate solutions.
- Knowledge of IT Programs and Careers: Understanding the curriculum, career paths, and industry trends within IT.
- Organizational Skills: Managing appointments, tracking student progress, and maintaining records.
- Ability to Work Independently and as Part of a Team: Balancing independent work with collaboration with other professionals
