Job Title: Graphical Application Designer / UI Designer
Experience Level: 2-4 Years
Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu
Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Mid-Level Graphical Application Designer (UI Designer) to join our growing product design team. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of proven experience in designing visually compelling and highly usable interfaces for desktop, web, or mobile applications. You will play a key role in translating complex user requirements into intuitive and aesthetically pleasing graphical experiences, ensuring our applications are both functional and delightful for our users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-fidelity user interfaces (UIs) for our [desktop/web/mobile] applications, ensuring visual consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Create wire frames, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Develop compelling visual concepts, including typography, color palettes, iconography, and overall visual style, to enhance the application's appeal and usability.
- Produce detailed mock-ups and interactive prototypes using industry-standard design tools to showcase design solutions and gather feedback.
- Translate wire frames and low-fidelity prototypes into fully realized, pixel-perfect graphical designs.
- Ensure the responsiveness and adaptability of designs across various screen sizes, resolutions, and devices.
- Present and articulate design decisions and rationale to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Prepare design assets and specifications for development teams, ensuring a smooth hand off.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Any Bachelor's degree.
- Experience: 2-4 years of professional experience in graphical application design, UI design, or visual design for software products.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of UI design projects, highlighting your visual design skills, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of user-centered design principles.
- Design Tools Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as:
- Figma
- Adobe XD
- Sketch
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photo shop, Illustrator)
- Visual Design Principles: Solid understanding of fundamental visual design principles, including typography, color theory, layout, hierarchy, balance, and contrast.
- User Interface (UI) Best Practices: Deep understanding of UI patterns, components, and best practices for creating intuitive and engaging user experiences.
- Prototyping Skills: Ability to create interactive prototypes to demonstrate user flows and interactions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate design ideas, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex problems into elegant design solutions.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, take constructive criticism, and contribute to a positive team dynamic.
- Good understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to facilitate better communication with developers.
