Job Description
Cloud Infrastructure Management: Manage, maintain, and scale the organizations GCP (Google Cloud Platform) infrastructure. Design and implement automated cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Deployment Manager, etc. Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, and costeffectiveness, focusing on efficient use of GCP resources such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage. Monitoring & Security: Implement and manage GCP-native monitoring tools (like Google Cloud Operations Suite, Stackdriver) to monitor system health, alert thresholds, and event handling. Design and enforce GCP security policies, including IAM, VPC security rules, and firewall configurations, ensuring compliance with security best practices and standards. Set up audit trails and logging for security compliance, leveraging tools like Cloud Audit Logs. CI/CD Pipeline Management: Build and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GCP tools like Cloud Build and third-party tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc. Automate infrastructure deployments, configuration management, and application delivery with GCP DevOps tools. Collaborate with development teams to define automated test and deployment processes Networking & Database Management: Manage GCP networking services (like VPC, VPN, Load Balancers, Cloud DNS) to ensure reliable and secure data flow across environments. Manage cloud-native databases such as Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Firestore, etc., ensuring availability, security, and optimal performance. Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Respond to production incidents, troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues, and ensure high system availability and performance. Implement disaster recovery strategies and backup mechanisms using GCP services like Cloud Storage, Persistent Disks, and automated snapshots. Cost Management: Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage to manage costs, implement billing alerts, and regularly audit infrastructure for cost savings opportunities. Utilize GCP cost management tools to forecast expenses, optimize resource usage, and prevent over-provisioning. Collaboration & Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, security, and product management teams, to ensure GCP environment meets technical and business requirements. Document infrastructure processes, designs, and operational standards for team-wide visibility and future reference. Role & responsibilities
