Elastic Search Engineer @ Fastenal

Job Description

Overview:
Join Fastenal's Enterprise Search & Analytics team to build and maintain Elasticsearch-based systems that power fast, relevant search and analytics across customer, product, and transaction data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize search and analytics solutions using Elasticsearch.
• Write clean, scalable code and participate in peer reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business-driven features.
• Support system upgrades, enhancements, and bug fixes.
• Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with Elasticsearch and cloud platforms.
• Proficient in SQL, REST APIs, and backend languages (Java, Python, PHP).
• Knowledge of SDLC, CI/CD, and test-driven development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to real-time data ingestion (Kafka, Spark/Databricks).
• Experience with NLP, AI/ML, or search recommendation systems.
• Understanding of bulk indexing, schema design, and relevance tuning.
