Job Description
Administer Splunk user accounts (create, delete, modify). Perform index administration, maintenance, optimization, and enforce data retention policies. Optimize indexing performance, troubleshoot ingestion issues, and identify bad searches/dashboards. Manage Splunk backup, restore operations, and overall platform health. Splunk Development & Customization Develop high-quality dashboards, alerts, reports, and data visualizations. Create custom Splunk applications, modular inputs, and scripts. Develop and optimize SPL queries to enhance search performance and usability. Implement REST API integrations with Splunk for external system interaction. Design and implement automated alerting and timed reports based on various use cases. Provide support for the Opsview & Dynatrace monitoring Automation & Optimization Develop custom Ansible playbooks for Splunk deployment, scaling, and automation. Lead performance tuning efforts for large-scale data ingestion and query optimization. Collaboration & Documentation Work cross-functionally with other teams on log monitoring, analysis, and platform improvements. Provide leadership and guidance to L1/L2 teams, ensuring efficient troubleshooting and incident resolution. Maintain proper documentation of Splunk configurations, policies, and best practices.Soft Skills Individual is comfortable with Technology Individual takes the initiative, learns quickly and is independent Has a problem-solving and trouble-shooting mindset Has experience creating/opening Support cases with the vendor Has experience communicating directly with Customers to obtain the necessary data to execute on a request Has experience working in an Agile environment/on an Agile team Individual has strong communication skills (written and oral) Individual has experience in a Lead/Leadership role nice to haveJob Classification
