Role Overview
A Technical Writer is responsible for developing and maintaining documentation for software applications, including user manuals, API documentation, online help, and tutorials.
The role involves close collaboration with developers, UX/UI designers, product managers, and Business stakeholders to ensure that documentation is comprehensive, accurate, and effectively communicates product features and instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Documentation Development: Create, edit, and maintain various types of documentation, including user manuals, technical guides, API references, and online help resources.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to gather information and translate technical specifications into clear and concise documentation that is accessible to end-users.
- Research and Analysis: Understand the software and its capabilities thoroughly, conducting interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs) and utilizing technical resources to ensure accuracy.
- Content Organization: Organize and structure documentation to enhance usability and user experience, ensuring information is logically presented and easy to navigate.
- Updates and Revisions: Continuously update and revise documentation to reflect product changes, new features, and user feedback.
- Quality Assurance: Perform reviews of documentation for clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guides and company standards.
- Visual Content Creation: Develop diagrams, screenshots, and other visual content to support written documentation and enhance user understanding.
- Proven experience in technical writing, specifically within software development or similar technical fields.
- Proven experience with Figma(mandatory skill) is required.
- Familiarity with software development life cycles (SDLC), documentation tools and content management systems (CMS).
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong attention to detail; the ability to convey complex information in a clear and engaging manner.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
