Job Description
The J-1 Visa Agriculture Construction Program is a cultural exchange program that allows international candidates to pursue training in the area of construction for agri-businesses, in order to improve their knowledge of advanced construction practices, techniques, methodologies and expertise, while enhancing their knowledge of American culture.
All positions earn a salary commensurate with an American Intern/Trainee. (~$ 14000 yearly minimum), 1 year contract, plus accommodation. In case accommodation is not provided, salaries would be higher.
Positions available: 10 ( 5 each with experience of Welding and Masonry)
Candidate Requirements
- Experience with welding or concrete/masonry
- Engineering or building degree/student
- Understanding of imperial measurement system and tools
- Plans to work in construction industry in India after return
- Someone who is not afraid of working in confined spaces or at heights of 100 feet or 30 or more meters above the ground.
- Good English skills
- Ability to live on their own with roommates; possibly from different counties (two to each bedroom)
- Automobile drivers license and decent driving skills/experience
- Willingness to start at entry level and follow instructions
- Ability to work with foreman/supervisor who is under time limits to get job finished (sometimes high-stress)
Timelines
May: Shortlisting of Candidates
June July: Documentation and Visa
August: Candidates arrive in the U.S. to attend orientations and commence internships
