Design System UX/UI Designer
Join a product team of developers, designers, and a design systems manager and
create a company-wide Web Component-based library and design system that
will be adopted by a global suite of digital products.
We are looking for a designer who has proven experience with working on a
design system within Figma and who is excited by creating scalable Figma
components and intuitive documentation for other designers and product teams.
You're curious by nature and eager to adopt new technologies that enable
scalable and the most maintainable solutions. You are as much vested in the
impact our product and team intents to achieve as you are focused on the
deliverables.
Youll support us with the adoption of the component library. This will involve
providing advice to other designer, sharing best-practices and at times jumping
into other peoples designs to provide feedback. We are making components
work now and into the future, so youll be adding and updating the library to
meet our users needs.
Key responsibilities and day to day tasks
You will apply a product driven way of working and helping ensure the
teams backlog reflects the road map goals of the design system
Designing new visual components and improving existing ones based on the
design system backlog needs
Working with your design system team to ensure visual and interaction
design consistency at SKF ranging from Figma design to coded web
components
Documenting component and interaction pattern decisions and providing
intuitive documentation in the design system hub
You will have knowledge and a desire to learn about emerging trends
You will have a lot of collaboration and alignment with other designers,
developers and product teams to ensure the design system is evolving
organically and remaining useful and relevant
Knowledge and experience required
Design education / employed experience of 4+ years (internships excluded)
Ability to create alignment and progress across a wide design community
Proven experience in Figma
Experience of Zero Height (or similar)
Be comfortable talking to and helping designer from different teams as well
as giving demos/presentations
Be communicative and have a clear interest in building a product community
of designers and developers
Experience working within an international companies / European
companies
Understanding of coding/front end development is a plus

Location: Bangalore / hybrid.
The position reports to Global Design Manager Digital Product Design.
