Location: Chennai (Hybrid 3 days from office)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in DBT, Snowflake, SQL, and hands-on experience with any cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP). The ideal candidate will also have solid working knowledge of Python and PySpark, enabling them to build scalable, efficient, and robust data pipelines and solutions. This is a hybrid role based in Chennai.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient ETL/ELT pipelines using DBT, SQL, Python, and PySpark.
  • Work extensively on Snowflake to build and optimize data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Develop and maintain data models using DBT and integrate them with reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement solutions.
  • Manage and optimize cloud-based data infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across the data lifecycle.
  • Monitor pipeline performance, perform root cause analysis, and proactively resolve data issues.
  • Follow best practices in software development, version control, and continuous integration.

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer.
  • Expertise in DBT (Data Build Tool) and Snowflake.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL (complex queries, performance tuning).
  • Proficient in Python for scripting and data transformation.
  • Experience with PySpark for distributed data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with any cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for data engineering.
  • Experience in designing data models, data warehousing, and data lake architectures.
  • Good understanding of CI/CD and version control (e.g., Git).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow or AWS Step Functions.
  • Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
  • Exposure to modern BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
