Responsibilities
Strategic:
Drive and deliver governance and compliance frameworks and policies to provide process ownership and excellence
Build and maintain expertise around risk policy setting and compliance requirements
Manage risk assurance and controls in accordance with BTs 3 lines of defence
Operational:
Drive and implement governance and enablement capabilities in area under management, enhancing commercial value and enabling consistent and efficient operations
Compliance frameworks and policies (e.g. supplier audit, risk management etc.)
Talent and capability development (e.g. career framework, learning and development, leadership programme etc.)
Complete the risk activities and actions to meet internal compliance and external regulatory / legal requirements
Maintain partnership with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure continuous alignment and buy in
People:
Manage and develop the capability of direct reports
Identify future talents to enhance knowledge and talent pool
Drive and deliver the required policies and frameworks, manage updates / maintenance and associated continuous improvement activities to enhance assurance and agility of procurement functions
Manage internal policies and evolving legal and regulatory requirements, making sure the business is aligned with all legal obligations
Perform risk and data protection impact assessments
Define digital enablement for 3rd party risk, working closely with transformation digital lead to identify and enable technologies automating and streamlining risk
Work with Senior Manager to determine training needs, develop and execute sufficient training and education to ensure the adoption of policy and framework across teams
Maintain expertise around industry best practice standards, policy and framework, regulatory / legal / financial / government / social requirements and changes
Manage good relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, ensure continuous alignment to drive adoption of governance and enablement programmes
Lead, develop and coach a team of procurement professionals to deliver brilliant outcomes for BT and customers
Skills & Experience:
8 plus years experience in the Procurement, with strong leadership skills and the ability to lead, and deliver value
Experience in Procurement framework and policy, compliance and risk management, able to take strategy and initiatives from design to implementation
Good understanding of BTs operating industry, and required regulatory / legal / financial / government requirements
Demonstrates a track record of value delivery and conflict management capability and deliver against key metrics
Strong relationship management skills & ability to influence decision making with senior stakeholders within a matrixed environment
Ability to manage BTs complex, strategic and commercial characteristics in line with external and internal requirements Demonstrates strong continuous improvement skills
