Key Responsibilities:
- Product Selection: - Identifying and choosing products that align with the brand's image, target customer base, and market trends.
- Market Research: - Staying up-to-date on current and emerging fashion trends, and analysing fashion trends to determine what's appropriate for the brand's target audience
- Supplier Relations: - Negotiating prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers, and building strong relationships with them.
- Budget Management: - Developing and managing merchandise budgets, ensuring purchases align with financial goals.
- Inventory Management: - Forecasting sales, planning stock levels, and managing inventory to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Sales Analysis: - Monitoring sales performance, analysing data, and making adjustments to purchasing decisions accordingly.
- Collaboration: - Working closely with designers, merchandisers, and other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to product selection and merchandising.
- Communication: - Communicating with internal teams, suppliers, and sometimes even customers.
