Job Description
1. Takes the nursing history, summarizes data, and states nursing diagnoses new born care needs.2. Observes and records signs, symptoms, and behaviours, including the physiological status of new born; reports assessment changes, to the concerned authority.3. Follows policy and delivers designated nursing interventions to assigned new born that are consistent with the stated medical plan of care.4. Performs admission, discharge and transfer procedures, and assists others with new born activities and care.5. Executes physician's orders for all assigned; new born safely and properly administers medications and treatments.6. To be responsible for collection of specimens when ordered, ensuring correct labelling.7. To be responsible for preparing assigned new born for programmed medical procedures.8. To participate in specialist's rounds and assist by giving relevant information as regards to nursing observations made on the residents.9. To supervise the cleanliness of assigned area or the ward.10. Carry out routine check at each handover that all equipment's are in working order.11. To ensure that all items used for residents inclusive of medications, surgical supplies are duly recorded and charged.12. To carry out inventory on surgical items and equipment for each week.13. Maintain residents' safety by taking preventive measures against accidents.14. Accurately records and reports incidents.Required Candidate profile
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Evaluate and oversee patients in the NICU and report to supervisors any changes in condition.
- Maintain and calibrate NICU equipment for patient safety and support.
- Administer medications as prescribed by attending NICU physician.
- Connect intravenous lines to administer medication and extract samples.
- Communicate with parents/guardians the plan of care and scope of treatment.
- Obtain and evaluate test results.
- Consult with physicians and other nurses on plan of care, progress and prognosis.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possess Diploma / Degree in Nursing and valid or renewed Karnataka Nursing Council Registration.
- 2+ years' experience working in a high-volume NICU.
- Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certificate a plus.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certificate preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of all NICU equipment (e.g. incubator, ventilator, etc.).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Proficient in the use of basic computer programs including MS Word applications.
- Profound knowledge of Nurse Practice Act and related industry guidelines.
- Ability to work well under stress including in emergency situations.
- Solid ability to work well independently and in group settings.
- Strong communications and organizational abilities.
- Hostel Facility would be provided to Female Nurse.
