Job Description
- As a Principal Engineer, Design Enablement Lead at Micron Technology, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the efforts of engineers from various groups and locations to develop Design Rules, Requirements, Test Structures, and enhance process margins for all DRAM generations. You will manage the creation and evaluation of test structures to generate data for next-generation devices and assess process margins for current devices. Your responsibilities will also include defining project sub-milestones, collaborating with different teams to meet targets and timelines, and identifying and addressing process issues proactively. In this role, you will work closely with Design, Product Engineering, Process Integration, Business Units, and Quality teams to optimize Performance, Power, Area, and Cost (PPAC) for all Micron DRAM products. You will ensure the implementation of appropriate Design Rule Checks (DRCs) and manage deviations from established design rules effectively. Additionally, you will partner strategically with multiple teams to understand process issues related to database layout and prioritize solutions development. Your role will involve summarizing complex problems, explaining actions taken to address them, and facilitating multi-functional communication on issue resolution and support across node Design Rule alignment. You will also be responsible for maintaining effective communication between Process Integration, Product Engineering, Design, and Advanced Mask teams, as well as documenting R&D activities related to design rule improvements for transfer to parts still in design. To qualify for this position, you should hold a BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, or a related field. You are expected to have at least 5 years of senior-level experience in the semiconductor industry, with expertise in areas such as Process Integration, Yield Enhancement, Product Engineering, Design, Test Structure Development, or Unit Process Development. A solid understanding of design & layout, experience with Test Structure Design and characterization, and the ability to communicate clearly in urgent situations are essential requirements for this role. Furthermore, you should possess a deep understanding of the DRAM process flow and major DRAM components, including Sense Amp, Word-line driver, and Anti-Fuse. Exposure to CAD group interactions, data post-processing, and data transfer processes will be advantageous in this position.
