DevOps Engineer Job Description
Position Overview
Are you a DevOps Engineer who is seeking impactful and transformative workIntelex is seeking a DevOps engineer who will work closely with RD stakeholders on transforming how delivers software.
Successful candidates are responsible for guiding RD teams in adopting best practices and standards in the context of software delivery pipelines. The day-to-day will include technical hands-on implementation of DevOps related tooling including maintaining the current and future inventory of tools used for software engineering.
Deliverables will include reference pipelines, adding guardrails to meet non-functional requirements into continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) tools, reducing build/release technical debt, and adopting modern cloud native tooling. Youll have a direct impact on the entire engineering culture and will be expected to be an active participant in our internal DevOps Guild . Your mission will be to move the needle on the pace of development, ultimately contributing to a platform that is available, fast, and engineered to withstand high-quality standards.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Builds automated deployments using script and/or configuration management technologies
- Provides DevOps subject matter expertise for existing projects and new initiatives
- Advocates for DevOps as a Culture within RD
- Ensures compliance with technical guardrails validating non-functional requirements, standards, policies, procedures and/or best practices
- Keeps documentation, readmes, and diagrams current
Organizational Alignment
- Reports to the Director of DevOps
- Builds and maintains relationships with cross functional teams within the organization.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience supporting distributed web applications, in a large, complex and evolving environments
- Experience in Continuous Deployment / Integration / Delivery throughout the software engineering lifecycle
- Experience working in an agile team environment
- Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure (Azure and AWS)
- Strong scripting abilities in Python, Powershell, and Bash
- Continuous Integration (Github Actions/Gitlab CI, and Jenkins)
- Continuous Deployment (Octopus Deploy, ArgoCD, or Harness)
- Kubernetes (AKS and EKS) and Microservices
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Docker, Helm, Packer, Consul, Ansible)
- Event-Driven/Serverless (Lambda, Fargate, Functions)
- Hands on technical competency with Windows/Linux servers
- Configuration Management (Ansible, Powershell DSC)
- Observability and monitoring (New Relic, DataDog)
- Knowledgable of DevSecOps patterns and best practices
Preferred:
- Database schema and change management tooling (Liquibase)
- AIOps, DataOps, and/or Feature Flag tooling
- Basic knowledge of C#, MSSQL, .NET Framework
Education and Work Experience:
- 9 or more years of operations, development, or similar work experience
- Bachelor s degree in Programming/Systems or Computer Science or other related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Master s Degree and/or vendor certifications are valued but not required
