Job Description

Role & responsibilities

• Reviews 3D CAD design blueprints.
• Programming using SOLID CAM/UGNX/Master cam.
• Translate instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.
• Cycle time reduction by elimination of unwanted tool movement and Process improvement.
• Write programs and modify existing ones for increased efficiency.
• Analyze and select speeds and cutting tools for programs.
• Make improvements to set up times for a task and contouring of complex shapes.
  

Required Candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Programmer
• Experience with programming 5-axis CNC machines using CAD/CAM software
• Knowledge of G-code, M-code, CNC machine setup, tooling methods, and cutting tool selection and optimization
• Experience with high precision, tight tolerance work in aerospace, defense, or nuclear industries
• Good understanding of various types of metals and materials
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work successfully both independently and as part of a team
