Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Excel VBA Developer to join the LATAM Desk as part of the rollout of the Realization strategic initiative. This initiative aims to progressively transform the risk platform for the NY LATAM Desk. The role involves transitioning and enhancing the desks suite of Front Office tools, primarily Excel-based, to integrate with the new system. The candidate will work directly with the desk to ensure seamless data consumption and contribution, while also improving tools for pricing, risk visualization, trade booking, and blotter management. Additionally, the role includes leading and managing a small team, fostering collaboration, and driving innovation to meet the desks evolving needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance and adapt Excel spreadsheets to interface with the new risk platform.
- Review and improve existing Front Office tools, including pricers and blotters.
- Develop and maintain Excel VBA-based tools for pricing, risk visualization, and booking.
- Collaborate with traders to translate requirements into functional tools.
- Perform business analysis and provide light support for desk tools.
- Work on visualization of risk, FX exposure, trade booking, market data management, and controls.
- Lead and mentor a small team of developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Set clear goals, provide constructive feedback, and ensure team alignment with project objectives.
- Act as a bridge between the desk and the development team, ensuring effective communication and delivery of solutions.
- Inspire confidence and motivate the team to achieve high performance under tight deadlines.
Key Skills:
- VBA Development: Strong proficiency in Excel VBA, with experience in on-desk coding.
- SQL: Intermediate-level knowledge for database interactions.
- General IT Knowledge: Familiarity with JSON manipulation and API integration using VBA.
- Leadership and People Management: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team, with strong organizational and decision-making skills.
Business Knowledge:
- Understanding of derivatives, risk, and PnL domains.
- Knowledge of LATAM markets and related financial instruments.

- Flexible and adaptable, capable of working in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with traders, team members, and other stakeholders.
