Job Description
- Conceptualization & Design:
- Collaborate with clients or internal stakeholders to understand project requirements, specifications, and design constraints.
- Develop innovative concepts, sketches, and preliminary designs based on functional requirements, material properties, manufacturing processes, and cost considerations.
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Revit, EPLAN choose relevant software).
- Analysis & Optimization:
- Perform engineering calculations, simulations (e.g., FEA, CFD if applicable), and analyses to validate design integrity, performance, and reliability.
- Optimize designs for functionality, manufacturability, assembly (DFM/DFA), cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
- Conduct material selection based on application requirements and industry standards.
- Prototyping & Testing Support:
- Work closely with manufacturing/production teams to support prototype development and testing.
- Analyze test results, identify design flaws, and implement necessary modifications or improvements.
- Documentation & Standards:
- Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including technical specifications, Bill of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and engineering change notices (ECNs).
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, IS codes), safety regulations, and client-specific requirements.
- Collaboration & Project Management Support:
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including project managers, R&D, production, quality assurance, and sales.
- Participate in design reviews, providing technical insights and incorporating feedback.
- Support project timelines and ensure design deliverables are met on schedule.
