Job Description
- Ability to Interpret drawing per customer specification, to understand customer requirement.
- Estimates and validates shouldcost across machining, castings, sheet metal, composites, wiring harnesses, special processes, etc.
- Develops bottomup cost models and uses tools like aPriori, DFMA, Lean Cost, Costimator, and Excel based cost models.
- A solid understanding of machine burden rate calculations and process runtime estimations, including theoretical calculations for various machining operations.
- Knowledge of product assembly operations and product qualification tests in the aero industry.
- Leads Teardown analysis, VAVE, and competitive benchmarking to drive cost improvements.
- Establishes production& tooling cost estimates; reviews supplier quotes, onetime charges, fixtures, jigs, and development costs.
- Applies industrial/manufacturing engineering expertise, including knowledge of processes, work centers, tooling, material properties, NDT, heat treatment, and
- Utilizes CAD tools (CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo, SolidWorks) for design and cost optimization.
- Collaborates across design, manufacturing, quality, and supplychain teams, contributing to NPIs and procurement strategies.
- Tracks KPIs like BOM savings, productivity improvements, procurement successes, and costforecast accuracy.
- Draws on experience in at least two sectors (e.g., aerospace, medical, consumer electronics).
