 Senior Manager - Data Analytics

Job Description

  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy
  • Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events
What You Will Do
  • Guide, mentor and manager 5-10 junior analysts
  • Define metrics, drive roadmaps, and uncover opportunities to improve our products.
  • Have a strong bias towards action, enjoy finding patterns amidst chaos, and have demonstrated success in using analytics to drive business impact.
  • Has the technical skills to guide the team
  • Work with your team to develop new analytic methods
  • Use quantitative analysis and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand what drives our business
  • Partner with product leaders, designers, and engineering managers to improve our products and prioritize projects for impact.
  • Represent the product analytics team in key meetings and business reviews with our executive team and founders
  • Provide data driven insights and deliver recommendations that address opportunities for product improvements
  • Use statistical methods to generate and test hypotheses. This includes: Performing analytical deep-dives to identify problems, opportunities and actions required; Collecting, processing, and cleaning data from disparate sources using SQL, R, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools
  • Managing the design, execution, and analysis of A/B tests; driving rigor and testing culture through product teams
  • Working knowledge of data science algorithms to build analytics frameworks for assessing impact
  • Experience with big data analytics - identifying trends, patterns, and outliers in large volumes of data
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, PowerBI
What You Will Bring
  • 10-15 years of experience of working in a high growth analytics team.
  • 5+ years of managing teams
  • Fluency in SQL, as well as an understanding of statistical analysis, and common pitfalls of data analysis. Basic understanding of query logic is a MUST.
  • Bachelors degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field. Relevant experience in Product analytics will be a PLUS.
  • Understanding of advanced analytics techniques
  • Experience of building data science models
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
  • Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
  • Led or worked independently on major initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
Option 1: Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 4 years experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Option 2: Masters degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Option 3: 6 years experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. 1 years supervisory experience.
