Role & responsibilities
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to support the development and deployment of scalable, secure, and highly available systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, or similar.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability using tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and security teams to streamline build, test, and deployment processes.
- Implement security best practices across all stages of development and deployment.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Optimize costs, improve performance, and ensure compliance in the cloud environment.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, with at least 2 years focused on AWS.
- Expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, ECS/EKS, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and others.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Shell).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS).
- Proficient with version control systems like Git.
- Deep understanding of networking, security, and system administration in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with agile development practices and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or other relevant AWS certifications.
- Experience with observability tools such as ELK Stack, Datadog, or Splunk.
- Knowledge of serverless architecture and event-driven programming.
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2, ISO27001).
