Job Description

An agriculture officer has a variety of tasks and duties depending on their area of specialization, employer, and location. These may include conducting field visits and surveys to assess the needs of farmers and rural communities, providing technical guidance and training on best practices, developing and implementing plans for agricultural development, monitoring and evaluating the impact of agricultural interventions, liaising with other stakeholders to coordinate agricultural activities, and advocating for agricultural issues. Additionally, they may need to advise on technologies and innovations in crop production, animal husbandry, soil and water management, pest and disease control, post-harvest handling, food security, natural resource conservation, and raising awareness among farmers and the public.
