Job Description
- The Super Anchor Engineer primary role is to lead application engineering, including technical design, development, testing, and operations activities across EV products to ensure a seamless experience across products
- In conjunction with being the technical leader, the Super Anchor Engineer also works in the full technology stack
- In conjunction with solution architecture, this position is responsible for the technical direction of products directly utilized by Ford end customers through the Mobile App, In-vehicle HMI (eg SYNC, ECG), Web
- Additionally, the systems being developed will interface with 3rd party platforms and services and our internal integration, which will require a high technical understanding of Big Data principles
- The Super Anchor Engineer will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching of more junior level engineers
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or equivalent relevant discipline and a minimum of 7 years of experience; or an advanced technical degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- 7+ years. Of hands-on programming experience.
- Experience of leading scaled teams of Software Engineers
- Hands on experience with designing and operating large, enterprise scale platforms and products
- Command of Enterprise architecture and Cloud reference architecture concepts.
- Lead the creation and implementation of software solutions to meet business and infrastructure needs (based on functional/nonfunctional requirements).
- Coordinate with application architects to validate solution designs with a focus on the reliability and stability of the product.
- Facilitate cross-team technical knowledge sharing forums (e.g. Anchor Engineer meetings, EV Common Libraries, etc).

Java, Spring/SpringBoot, Microservices, iOS, Android, Agile, PCF, CI/CD, Jenkins, DevOps, Azure, GCP, React, Angular, SQL, CosmosDB, GitHub, JSON, Swagger, Cucumber, TDD/BDD, SonarQube, Checkmarx.
This position requires the following technical competencies and skills:
- Java Spring, Android, and/or iOS development experience depending on the team.
- PCF/Azure experience.
- Command of Enterprise architecture and Cloud reference architecture concepts.
- Command of mobile app reference architecture concepts.
- Experience and/or understanding of setting up and management of Automated Build Processes.
- Deployment/Release Execution and Planning, Instrumenting Zero Down Time deployments and Unattended deployments.
- Experience with teaching Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with Software Development tools (Backlog Management, Source Code Management, Test Management, Automation, CI/CD/CD).
- Experience in integrated testing across the Enterprise Connectivity ecosystem to ensure end-to-end product quality.
- Provide input on product discovery, estimation, planning and prioritization.
- Develop solutions with architects to ensure interoperability of interfacing external and internal systems and develop prototypes to validate.
- Lead a team of senior software engineers to achieve a shared understanding of the solution.
- Interact with external and internal technical peers (Product Managers, Product Designers, Software Engineers, Architects, and vendors).
- Expertise with cloud environments (PCF/Azure). Knowledge of GCP is a plus
- Expertise with native and non-native mobile app development (iOS and/or Android).
- Focus on the security of the EV services and ensure proper tooling is in place to fix vulnerabilities and detect threats.
- Experience with industry standard development environment, technologies, tools and techniques including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery techniques.
- Command of agile principles, value, best practices, and tools. Practical experience in all systems life cycle phases.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills.
- Ability and willingness to collaborate in the software development community on teams of varying sizes to obtain a common goal
