Senior Engineer - ME Automation Engineering @ General Motors

Job Description

Position Tasks and Responsibilities

• Develop E Tools using various software platforms like VBA, C#, Python etc. Create documentation related to these e tools. Maintain these E Tools on ongoing basis.

• Develop and maintain CDE (Controls Design Environment) E Tools for various VSA areas like Body, PFS, GA, GPS, Paint, Press etc

• Support global standards team in developing and maintaining hardware templates for VSA solutions
• Support global standards team in developing and maintaining software templates for VSA solutions
• Work on VSA strategy roadmap items for development and standardization of various automation solutions

Knowledge:

• Expert in software coding such as XML, C#, J Script, VBA, Python etc..
• Knowledge of automation controls design, execution & maintenance (PLCs, HMIs, IO switches, Drives, field devices, etc) preferably with Rockwell PLC & Siemens HMI.
• Knowledge on Robot Programming and trouble shooting, preferably FANUC Robots.
• Project management skills especially in developmental projects including software side. Good understanding of Agile methodology for project management.

Abilities:

• Ability to work with intercultural, multi-disciplinary & remote teams to achieve functional goals.
• Ability to organize, plan, prioritize and execute projectswith a keen attention to details.
• Willingness to learn new areas like softwares, tools etc quickly and apply it in developmental projects

Educational Qualifications:

• Masters/Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering / Computer Science.

Experience:

• 2-10 years experience in any Automotive Companies or Automation system builders or Software Companies with Automation background.
