Job Description

Job Title: Senior Civil 3D Designer and Draftsman Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil 3D Designer and Draftsman to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of civil engineering design principles and be proficient in using the latest versions of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software to create detailed contours, profile sheets, alignments, pipeline profiles, road profiles, and other civil engineering drawings. With over 10 years of experience in the field, the successful candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Knowledge of MicroStation and other CAD platforms will be considered an added advantage. Responsibilities: Design and prepare complex civil engineering drawings using the latest versions of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software, including but not limited to contours, alignments, profile sheets, pipeline profiles. and road profiles. Utilize knowledge of MicroStation and other CAD platforms to enhance design capabilities and interoperability across different software. Understand and implement project-specific standards for scales, layouts, title blocks, and other drafting conventions. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to gather project requirements and specifications to develop accurate and detailed designs. Review and revise designs and drawings to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as client-specific standards. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and draftsmen, sharing knowledge and best practices in Civil 3D design and other CAD platforms. Manage and maintain project documentation, including drafting and design records, revisions, and updates. Participate in project meetings and provide insights and recommendations based on design expertise. Ensure timely completion of design assignments while maintaining high-quality standards. Requirements: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a Civil 3D designer and draftsman, specifically in the civil engineering industry. Profound knowledge of the latest versions of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software and their application in creating detailed engineering drawings, including contours, profiles, alignments, and more. Knowledge of MicroStation and other CAD platforms is highly desirable. Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, drafting standards, and construction techniques. Experience with creating pipeline profiles, road profiles, and other related civil engineering drawings. Excellent skills in understanding and implementing scales, layouts, and title blocks in engineering drawings. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of design and drafting. Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, Design, or a related field is preferred.
