Position Summary 1. Maximize performance and efficiency of hardware and minimize power consumption through firmware development. 2. Add additional values onto basic value of hardware and maximize profit through firmware development. 3. Implement and optimize various devices so that operate organically and meet the requirements and functions of the product. Role and Responsibilities Computer imaging and vision continues to become a large and important aspect of most of our electronic devices. Samsung Semiconductor has state-of-the-art Camera ISP and Imaging SW/HW pipeline. It supports multiple use cases and businesses such as mobile, automotive etc. It is also capable of leveraging AI using on chip AI accelerators. This is an exciting opportunity for software engineers to develop cutting edge imaging solutions. This role will require development and commercialization of firmware for Camera ISP. Qualifications: Senior Firmware Engineer having good understanding of Multitasking. Firmware (with RTOS) for ARM based Multimedia accelerators. Sound experience in development of firmware code for ARM Cortex M/A/R series CPU cores, DMA engines, Interrupt Controller, Timers, Memory management unit etc. Understanding and development experience of security on ARM based systems, using ARM TrustZone IPs. Exposure to profiling and performance analysis of hardware blocks and firmware sections. System profiling (systrace, DS5, etc.), system performance and power optimizing. Knowledge of PMUs (performance management units) or hooks available in HW to profile/estimate performance Knowledge of camera ISP and sensors preferred Skills and Qualifications A minimum of 4 to 10 years of experience
